The Lower Lake (Untersee) is flatter than the Upper Lake (Obersee), less choppy, calmer, perhaps even "more refined," as those who love this part of the lake like to say. On the western shore of Lake Constance, you can cross the German-Swiss border in just a few minutes by ferry. The ferries take you on wonderful excursions and to various sights in the region. A hidden gem are the two futuristic-looking solar ferries that glide almost silently across the Lower Lake.

Ride a bike

Directly from our front door, you can access the extensive network of paths along the Lake Constance Cycle Path. Whether a leisurely ride to the historic monastery churches or a more challenging tour around the Lower Lake – enjoy the flat terrain of the "Vegetable Island" with its panoramic views of the Alps. Your bicycle will be safely stored with us, so you can start your tours completely carefree.
